BRICKTOWN. Stretching from East Congress to East Fort, this impressive stretch of brick buildings is noteworthy for its cornucopia of restaurants, popular nightspots, and trendy boutiques, all products of the city's on-going urban-revival initiative. Aside from the renovated storefronts and brick facades, the neighborhood is also home to Wayne County Building, Detroit's oldest-standing Italian Renaissance structure.

GREEKTOWN. Detroit's most well known ethnic neighborhood, Greektown includes Monroe Avenue and its various side streets. Aside from boasting the Motor City's most intoxicating night-life scene, Greektown hums with activity during the daytime, as people flock here to check out the deals in boutique and specialty shops. In addition, some of the city's top restaurants call this part of town "home," as does the ever-popular Greektown Casino.

DOWNTOWN DETROIT. Colorful tiles in the Arts and Crafts style and terra cotta colored brick decorate the exterior of this 32-story Art Deco skyscraper. Built during the Roaring '20s, this bank building reflects the financial excess of the time. The stunning main lobby is saturated with color and patterns. Geometric Indian motifs created with Pewabic tiles in shades of red, blue, and green decorate the ceiling and the walls.

BELLE ISLE. Located on Belle Isle, this spectacular fountain is made of Italian white marble and was named for James Scott, who bequeathed the funds for its construction. The fountain is a complicated series of bowls, basins, and spouts, along with lionesses, turtles, dolphins, Neptunes, and animal horns gracefully spewing streams of water.
